CAT Squared Releases New Android Apps

Written by Kathy Barbeire | Mar 12, 2020 7:00:05 PM

In January 2020, Microsoft officially ended its support for Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5. This will complete the end-of-life process for all Windows ruggedized environments.

In preparation for this transition, CAT Squared is redeveloping our entire suite of mobile applications for the Android operating system, and we are ready to release the first of our rewritten apps:

  • Dry Goods Mobile
  • Egg Inventory Mobile

In addition to additional device hardware options, our new applications also provide substantial performance improvements as well as usability and workflow improvements.

While we are developing the new Android applications to work alongside our existing Windows Mobile ones, we’re also taking steps to improve the management and configuration process. With our new applications, site administrators can configure device options through a web portal, and devices can be setup by simply scanning a server-generated barcode. This process also allows for device configuration to be adjusted remotely, without the need to physically locate a device in order to update its settings.

If you are interested in testing the new applications or need recommendations for compatible devices, please email joseph.ganann@catsquared.com.
