Founded in 1995, CAT Squared began as a small software consultancy serving food manufacturers seeking better control of their production data.
Originally part of M-Tech Systems, a global leader in flock-management software, CAT Squared focused on building solutions for plant-floor operations while M-Tech concentrated on live-production management.
When the company became an independent entity, it retained the legal name M-Tech International but began doing business as CAT Squared. After relocating its headquarters to Arkansas, the team collaborated with C.A.T. (Cooling Applied Technologies)—a leading manufacturer of industrial chillers for poultry processors—to develop integrated software for processing and yield tracking.
Although CAT Squared and C.A.T. later pursued different paths, the partnership reinforced CAT Squared’s identity as a company uniting data and technology to improve food manufacturing performance.
In 2018, CTB, Inc. (a Berkshire Hathaway company) acquired a majority interest in CAT Squared, positioning it alongside Meyn and Cabinplant to deliver fully integrated farm-to-fork solutions through the CYNERGY platform.
Today, CAT Squared continues to build on this legacy—helping food processors worldwide improve efficiency, yield, and compliance through continuous improvement.
