BanvitBanvit began as a feed producer in 1968 and has grown to become one of the foremost food producers in Europe and the largest fully-integrated broiler producer in Turkey, processing 75 million birds per year. The company also owns a state-of-the-art further processing facility as well as a turkey processing facility.
As part of Banvit's enterprising growth strategy, they identified the need for an integrated manufacturing execution system. In 1997, after an extensive search, Banvit selected CAT² to implement complete primary processing, further processing, and food safety systems. These systems have successfully managed every aspect of Banvit's production process in all three facilities for the past 12 years, providing real-time production control and management information; the Banvit team has been able to realize significant returns in productivity, efficiency, error reduction, and yield improvements.
True to their innovative management style, Banvit's team reacted to the challenges of AI ("Bird Flu") in Turkey by embarking on an extensive marketing campaign, explaining how their systems allow them complete product traceability. Banvit's customers can buy a tray of chicken, type the serial number from the tray into a field on Banvit's website, and view a complete genealogy report that tracks the product back to the broiler's farm, flock, and breeder. This groundbreaking approach allowed Banvit to stand apart from the competition.

Odom's Tennessee PrideFounded in 1943, Odom's Tennessee Pride has three facilities, two in Tennessee, and one in Arkansas. The challenge at the Arkansas location was to introduce an integrated quality management system that included real-time data collection by means of sensors on the plant floor. These collection points included several temperatures, both on the plant process and the final product. CAT² managed the project from inception, through planning, installation and training. Benefits realized included labor savings due to automated data collection and reporting, as well as improved product quality and consistency.

BachocoFounded as a small table-egg operation in 1952, Bachoco has grown to become the largest broiler producer in Mexico. With 12 processing plants spread throughout the country, the company rivals economies of scale in the USA, Brazil and Europe. Bachoco is driven to success by an innovative management team that remains grounded by honesty, responsibility, respect, service, and justice.
Bachoco embarked on a search for fully integrated manufacturing execution systems some years back which finally they selected CAT² as their partner to integrate and automate operations and data collection from all plants into a complete solution. Paired with their Bachoco's existing SAP ERP package, CAT²'s solutions provided the company with real-time production data and efficiency reporting, allowing Bachoco to realize significant returns from improved efficiencies, greater accuracy in inventory management, improved yields, and fewer shipping errors.
After completing a pilot implementation at their Culiacan, Sinaloa processing plant, which is one of their largest and most diverse facilities as far as product mix, the Bachoco, CAT² and SAP team are now working on implementing the same systems at all their other facilities. The plant has already realized significant returns from the systems. Plant personnel have gained complete control of product movement and inventory levels, improved efficiencies in several areas, and realized significant yield improvements as a result of reliable yield reporting at a department and process level. The Culiacan plant has also used CAT²'s food safety systems to embark on an ambitious improvement process that integrates real-time plant monitoring, visual inspections, and alarming.
